This onboarding sequence blends nurture and strategy to build trust early, reduce overwhelm, and guide new members toward the most relevant step for them.
Kindry is a natural wellness app and apothecary created for women navigating hormone imbalances, chronic fatigue, and the gaps in conventional healthcare. Rooted in the belief that women’s wellness is inseparable from ancestral wisdom, Kindry draws on herbal traditions passed down through generations that modern medicine has largely overlooked.
The goal of this onboarding sequence was to welcome new members warmly, establish trust immediately, and guide them toward the areas of the app that are most relevant to their health journey and goals, without overwhelming them or making them feel like they need to do everything at once.
Onboarding Strategy: Mapped a 5-email sequence designed around a new member experience, identifying the key moments where education, connection, and gentle calls to action would be most effective.
Delivery Timing: Emails are delivered on days 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7. The sequence is front-loaded intentionally. New members are most engaged in the first 72 hours, so the first three emails arrive closer together to build momentum and establish the brand relationship quickly. Emails 4 and 5 give members space to explore before checking back in.
Email Copywriting: Wrote all five emails in Kindry's brand voice, which is warm, knowledgeable, and deeply respectful of the reader's autonomy and lived experience.
New Member Journey Strategy: Structured the onboarding sequence to move members from welcome to education to deeper engagement, reflecting how trust is built over time rather than in a single email.
The sequence was designed to reduce early drop-off, increase member engagement, and help new members find the products, programs, and resources most relevant to their needs.
This sequence demonstrates how thoughtful onboarding can build trust, increase engagement, and guide new members toward meaningful action without relying on pressure-heavy sales tactics.
