A nine-month content partnership that supported a major SEO turnaround for Catchmaster, helping the brand build authority across flies, ants, mosquitoes, rodents, spiders, crickets, and moles through high-volume, SEO content and conversion-focused sales pages.

Client Overview:

Client: Catchmaster
Industry: Pest Control (Ecommerce, Home & Garden)
Services: Website Copy, Sales Copy, SEO Blog Writing, Content Briefs
Timeline: March 2024 – November 2024

Project Overview:

Catchmaster is a nationally recognized pest control brand sold in Walmart, Home Depot, Kroger, and other major retailers. Despite their retail presence, their website had limited organic visibility and had struggled with two previous SEO agencies.

When SEOforEcommerce took over the account, I was brought in as the content partner responsible for producing the high‑volume, SEO‑aligned content needed to support the turnaround strategy. At the time, Catchmaster’s website had minimal optimized content and lacked the depth required to compete for high‑intent pest control keywords.

Over nine months, I wrote sales pages, SEO‑optimized blogs, and dozens of content briefs across multiple pest categories. My work helped build topical authority, strengthen internal linking, and support the hybrid “sales landing page” strategy that became a major driver of organic growth.

Key Contributions:

Website Copywriting: Wrote conversion-focused sales pages across multiple pest categories. Each page balanced SEO optimization with clear, benefit-driven messaging that helped Catchmaster compete for high-intent commercial keywords.

SEO-Optimized Blog Writing: Produced a large volume of SEO-optimized articles across flies, ants, mosquitoes, mice, rats, spiders, crickets, and moles. Representative topics include:

  • How to Get Rid of Flies
  • What Really Attracts House Flies
  • How to Set a Mousetrap
  • Best Spider Traps
  • How to Catch a Mole
  • How to Properly Dispose of Glue Traps
  • Are Glue Traps Toxic to Humans or Pets?

These articles required deep research into pest behavior, trap mechanics, attractants, safety considerations, and humane disposal methods. Each piece was written to rank for specific search intent while maintaining a clear, accessible, homeowner‑friendly voice.

Content Briefs for Internal Writers: Created dozens of detailed content briefs to support the SEO agency’s internal writing team. These briefs included keyword targeting, competitor analysis, outline structure, internal linking recommendations, product references, and homeowner-friendly tone guidance. This ensured consistency across all content, even when multiple writers were involved.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Worked closely with the SEO team and Catchmaster’s Sr. Manager of Tech Platforms & Capabilities to align content with keyword priorities, the pest calendar, collection page optimization, and the hybrid “sales landing page” strategy.

SEO Impact:

My content supported the SEO strategy that helped Catchmaster:

  • Grow their Fly Traps collection page to 13,000 clicks per month
  • Rank both their collection page and their sales landing page for high‑intent fly trap keywords
  • Turn SEO into a profitable revenue channel within six months
  • Build topical authority across multiple pest categories
  • Strengthen internal linking between blogs, sales pages, and collections

The hybrid “Best Fly Traps for Indoors” landing page, supported by my content, became a major traffic driver, earning 6,000 clicks per month on its own.

Results:

In less than a year, Catchmaster went from limited organic visibility to becoming a competitive force in the pest control ecommerce space. The sales pages I wrote helped clarify product benefits, improve conversion potential, and capture high‑intent search traffic across multiple pest categories.

The SEO‑optimized blogs built authority, supported internal linking, and helped Catchmaster rank for informational and commercial queries that previously belonged to competitors. Together, this content foundation played a key role in the brand’s SEO turnaround and long‑term growth trajectory.
